Station 15 was alerted at 06:59 hours for the RIT assignment assist for station 18 on a house fire with smoke from the basement. NCC EMS Assistant Chief Richard Krett (EMS 3) arrived on scene with smoking showing in the rear of the residence. Rescue 15 under the command of Assistant Chief Matt Netsch responded with a crew of 5 and stood by as the RIT Company and eventually assisted with ladder placement on the A and D sides of the structure. The fire apparently started in the furnance and extended to the 1st floor floor joists. The alarm was upgraded to a working alarm at 07:02 hours. The scene was placed under control at 07:30 hours. Rescue 15 went available at 09:56 hours.
