Delaware City Fire Company selected as the NAEMT Volunteer EMT Service of the Year - Las Vegas, Nevada

At tonight’s Award Reception for the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians in the Las Vegas Hilton, the Delaware City Fire Company was selected as the "Leo R. Schwartz Volunteer Emergency Medical Service of the Year" which Purpose is: To recognize a volunteer service that demonstrates excellence in EMS system design and provision of excellent patient care while fostering a positive and safe work environment for EMS providers. Led by Fire Chief Jamie Rosseel, EMS Supervisor John Atkinson, Asst. EMS Supervisor Mike McMichael, President Wally Poppe and Past President Ed Kalinowski, the award was presented to Chief Rosseel sponsored by EMS Magazine for Exemplifying Outstanding Professionalism and Community Service. The Delaware State Ambulance Association, Delaware State Fire Prevention Commission, New Castle County Communications Center and Dr. Ross Megargel presented nominating letters to the NAEMT. On behalf of the Officers and Members of the Delaware City Fire Company, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to those who presented nominating letters on the Fire Companies behalf. For any Organization to be successful Organizations need to have great leaders and our Fire Company is lead by one, Chief James D. Rosseel. It is his leadership qualities that he displays on every facet of the Volunteer Fire Service that our members look at and follow. We are very fortunate to have a solid group of EMS Officers, followed by a select few EMT’s, First Responders, Drivers and especially our Career Staff who are dedicated to providing the same care that your Fire Company was recognized for. Congratulations to all of our EMS Responders, YOU are the reason we could be recognized for this prestigious award.
