2nd MVC with Entrapment on Route 1

On Monday, November 19th at 21:53 hours while clearing the scene of an earlier Fatal MVC with Entrapment on Route 1 SB, Rescue Engine 15 heard the impact of a pickup truck slamming into the rear of a tractor trailer hauling empty chicken containers.

Rescue Engine 15 advised the Fireboard of a 2 vehicle MVC with heavy entrapment and requesting Zone 3 Fire Police to respond and shutdown Route 1 NB at Wrangle Hill Road.

Squad 15, TSU-15, A-15, C-15, B-6, Rescue Engine 12, Ladder 12, M6A, ALS13, ALS29, Trooper 4 and 158 all made the response.  Chief Poppe arrived on scene with conditions as reported and assumed Delaware City Command.

Crews from both companies worked for 15 minutes to extricate the patient who was assessed in A15 by the BLS and ALS Crews before being place in Trooper 4 for transport to CER.  A-15 transported 1 minor patient to Christiana ER.

Command placed the scene under control at 22:35 hours turning the scene over to DelDot and DSP.
