125th Anniversary Social Event - DCFC Memorial Hall

On Friday, April 13th, The Fire Company kicked off our 125th Anniversary Celebration with a Social Night inviting our Local, County and State Officials, County and State Associations, all New Castle County Fire Companies and the vendors who support our 125th Anniversary Ad Book.

A crowd of about 125 people were in attendance and received a Pilsner or Wine Glass, Commemorative 125th Anniversary Coin and our Program Ad Book.

President Wally Poppe welcomed those in attendances and recognized the 125th Anniversary Committee for their outstanding work. Chief Jamie Rosseel also welcomed the group and thanked everyone for coming out to help us start of 125th Anniversary Celebration.

Our Ladies Auxiliary prepared Hors D'oeuvres for the night and a slide presentation prepared by our Photographer Dave Jones played during the start of the event and after the presentations, which showed pictures of members of the Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary throughout the years.

Presentations were made to the Fire Company by the State Fire Prevention Commission, Delaware Volunteer Firefighters Association, Our State Representative Becky Walker assisted by Honorary Member Representative Earl Jaques, New Castle County President Paul Clark presented by 911 Communications Chief David Roberts, New Castle County Council Representative Bill Bell, Port Penn Fire Company, Minquas Fire Company, Townsend Fire Company, Odessa Fire Company and the Good Will Fire Company. Our State Senator Dori Connor and Honorary Member Bruce Ennis will be presenting a Senate Resolution at our Banquet on April 21st.

Honorary Member Senator Tom Carper made an appearance after he left another event and stayed for about an hour.

The cake was made by Sandy Warrick and donated by 2nd Vice President Mike McMichael.
