Cadet Vehicle Rescue Training - Delaware City

On Sunday afternoon the Cadets had an opportunity to do more damage to the vehicle that was used in the Delaware City Day Car Smash. With the assistance of Alan MacKenzie, Josh Sinex, Albert Schrack and Dennis Layton, Jr. we loaded up Rescue 15 with five cadets and headed downtown for an Introduction to Vehicle Rescue. Alan MacKenzie instructed our young members on Safety, Vehicle nomenclature, Hydraulic Tools, Cribbing, Types of Extrication and then let each cadet work the tools. It was a good beginning for most of them as it was the first time they had been away from the firehouse training. ###
