Promotional Announcement - Career Captain Samuel S. Boots

It is with great pride that Chief Wally Poppe announces the promotion of Career Staff Samuel S. Boots to the newly created position of Career Captain effective Monday, October 12, 2020. 
 
Captain Boots has been employed with the Delaware City Fire Company since May 17, 1999.  During his 21 year career with us, Captain Boots has attained several levels of training achievements up to NFPA Fire Officer IV, Fire Inspector I, HazMat Technician, Rescue Technician among the over 2,000 hours of training that Captain Boots has completed as well as the required training that is required for employment. 
 
Captain Boots was the 2nd Full Time Staff hired by the Delaware City Fire Company.  Throughout his career with us, Captain Boots continues to display a tremendous work ethic, ability to perform under stressful conditions, interacts very well with everyone he encounters and rarely misses any time off of work.  Captain Boots also contributes with assisting us with our maintenance of our apparatus and equipment, which he regularly helps us from placing anything out of service or adding an unneeded expense. 
 
Captain Boots continues to serve with Pride and Dignity and has an outstanding relationship with our members and the members of our Ladies Auxiliary. 
 
Congratulations Career Captain Sam Boots on this long overdue and much deserved recognition!
