The Officers and Members of the Delaware City Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary regretfully announce the passing of Chief Engineer Emeritus Edward N. "Punk" Bennett Jr. on Sunday, July 12th.
Ed joined the fire company on November 21, 1951 and served in many capacities over his 64 years of service. He served as our 1st Lieutenant Rescue, 2nd Lieutenant Resuce, Rescue Captain, Assistant Chief, Board of Director and served many years as our Chief Engineer.
As we receive more information we will post it on our web site. The family has asked that any donations in his memory be send to his church where he was an Elder which is the First Presbyterian Church of Delaware CIty, 138 Jefferson Street, Delaware City, DE 19706.
We ask that you please keep Libby, Bruce, Nancy, Steve, David and their families in your thoughts and prayers.
