Motor Vehicle Accident involving a School Bus

At 08:20 hours, Stations 15/29, A-12, B12, Medic 6C and Trooper 4 were alerted for a Motor Vehicle Crash on River Road at the Norfolk Southern Railroad.  Squad18, B-18 and 18-8 also responded at dispatch.  A-15, Rescue Engine 15 [Career Chief Sands] w/ crew 4 responded along with A-29 and 29-6 w/ crew 4.

Command advised a total of 6 children and 2 adults, requesting 2 additional BLS Units which A-4 and A-10 were dispatched.  Command later advised of a 3rd adult patient.  Command advised that a secondary bus was already on scene and all patients were being evaluated and possibly transported to the ED via the bus.  At 08:33 hours, Command advised to cancel all ALS.

Command advised this would be a Level 1 MCI in which the secondary bus could be utilized for transport in which all 6 children and 2 adults were transported to Christiana ER via the bus with 1 member of A15 and Rescue Engine 15 on board followed by both A-15 and Rescue Engine 15.  A-29 transported the 3rd adult patient to Christiana ER.

Units cleared the scene at 08:57 hours and turned it over to Delaware State Police.
