2nd Group from Southern Elementary Visit - Station 15
April 09, 2008
On Wednesday April 9, 2008 the 2nd group of children and staff from the Southern Elementary School came to the Delaware City Fire Company.
The children enjoyed the instruction from Firefighter Bill Hart and Ashes the Fire Dog. The team’s interaction held the attention of the children and brought life to the program. Students were selected to be assistant helpers during the presentations.
Two students showed how to properly do Stop, Drop and Roll. Each Student made sure that they covered their face so fire and smoke would not get into their airway and lungs. Another student was given the opportunity to put on the child size fire gear.
After the classroom presentation the children and staff were shown the fire trucks. Firefighters talked to the children about what the tools and equipment are on each one and what the tools are used for.
Thanks to the Children and Staff of Southern Elementary School for attending the Fire Safety Program.
Members in attendance: Bill Hart, Phil Smith, Ron Hallett, and Jamie Watson.
