The Delaware City Fire Company Softball made a commendable showing at the Seaford Tournament, ending up 7th overall. In their first (and only) game on Saturday they won against Smyrna. Sunday, Delaware City got eliminated after a loss to South Bowers and Talleyville. Although in the middle of those games they did have a win against Austin & Pruitt – Fire & Safety. After the tournament – the tournament coordinator called Coach Roulston and commended Delaware City on their sportsmanship. Delaware City Fire Company Softball team would like to thank Interstate Construction for their sponsorship and Mr. & Mrs. Lester for their support (and their cooking!). Coach Pedrick would like to thank the team, the scorekeeper and the bat boy, Jonathon, for their outstanding efforts at the tournament. Delaware City made an awesome showing and had a good time doing it. Coach Pedrick would also like to thank the fans, who with their volume of cheering certainly let everyone know that Delaware City was around.
