Becoming Part of the Ribbon - Delaware City

August 25, 2010

Ladies Auxiliary member Sharon Hart tells her story in this must read book about her courageous battle with cancer. We felt this was important news worthy story about one of our members in her battle against cancer. We have had other members of the Auxiliary who have also battled this deadly disease and we are proud to announce that they are still very active in our organization! Our organizations believes in and strives to be family oriented as you can see by all of our activities we do together and the support we give to our Community Partnership Outreach Programs. From Sharon's web site: Written as a therapeutic instrument to accompany her through the terrible journey, Becoming Part of the Ribbon tells Sharon's gripping life story in an in-depth and candid point of view. It shares the medications she took, the doctors she approached, and the daily events she encountered in a diary-style format. This account also mentions the positive approach she used and how it helped her during the process. “I have always said that it is all in the attitude and now I can live to tell how true that is,” she declares. “Let’s try to have as much fun with this journey as we can.” Poignant yet truthfully inspiring, Becoming Part of the Ribbon aims to give other diagnosed women the courage and strength to struggle to get their life back and conquer this terrible disease. Sharon S. Hart and her husband Bill, live the typical life of many people. She is a dental hygienist and he is a firefighter. They have been happily married for thirteen years and have two boys ages nine and six. She was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in August 2007. This disease has changed the ways that the author looks at life. “We no longer take anything for granted and we try to laugh and enjoy every moment of life. Both he and I are determined to find a cure for Cancer and improve the lives of Cancer Survivors,” Hart says.
