Heavy Rains at Hight Tide brings localized Flooding - Delaware City

Heavy rains at high tide tonight brought some flooding to several areas of Delaware City. End of Clinton Street at the circle, several areas in the Delaware City Mobile Home Park, Canal Street and in Polktown and the grounds to Governor Bacon. The New Castle County Surface Water Team was activated due to the conditions in the Mobile Home Park. Due to the flooding the fire company assisted the City of Delaware City and the Cutting Edge in pumping water from the end of Clinton Street. One resident in Polktown Place was evacuated from her home due to flooding conditions by members of Delaware City and Port Penn Fire Companies. A stranded motorists on the grounds of Governor Bacon was removed from her vehicle that was in high water by both companies. B-15 transported her to Christiana for cold exposure. Deputy Chief Miklus and Assistant Chief Johnson were in Command during the multiple incidents going on. Mayor Buchheit and Council Member Doebley were with a Fire Company representative during the multiple incidents checking on the areas affected.
