Camden, NJ Fire Department New Fireboat Dedication - Camden, New Jersey

Members of the Fire Company and Fireboat 15 made the trip up the Delaware River for the Dedication Ceremony for the new Camden New Jersey Fire Department, Metal Craft Marine Fire Storm 50, Fireboat on December 17, 2011. Camden Fireboat 1 is named in honor of one of their fallen members "George M. Jackson". Deputy Chief Michael Dipascale conducted the ceremony. Speakers included Chief Michael Harper, Mayor Dana L. Redd, Battalion Chief Donald Johnson and Congressman Rob Andrews. Concluding the ceremony Wilmington's Fireboat 7, Philadelphia's Fireboat Independence and Fireboat 15 gave a water salute. We departed Delaware City at 08:45 hours and arrived in Camden at 10:00 hours. The trip was used to practice chart plotting, time and distance calculations as well as general seamanship. Average speed for the trip was 30 knots. The return trip only took one hour. The crew consisted of Ed Kalinowski, Mike Doebley, Alan MacKenzie, Albert Schrack, and Shyla Mazzaferro.
