Rescue for Stranded Hunter

At 06:34 hours Station 15 was dispatched to assist Station 29 on a Stranded Hunter stuck in the mud in the marsh area off of Delaware City Port Penn Road at St. Georges Creek, Blind #5.

Special Ops 15, C-15 and 15-8B [Assistant Chief Hart] responded.   Chief 29-8 [Schoeffler] arrived in the area and assumed Port Penn Command.  Crews from Port Penn put 29 Marine 2 in service and made patient contact with the individual who had both legs stuck in the mud.  Townsend put in service 26 Marine 3 to assist with removing the patient.

Trooper 4 arrived and it was decided to utilize thier hoist to remove the patient.  Trooper 4 went to the Delaware City Boat Ramp to set up the hoist.  In the meantime, crews were able to extricate the patient and transported him to be assessed by C-15 and Medic 5D.  Command placed the scene under control at 07:28 hours.  The patient refused treatment.
