Last week our three newest full time employees began their careers at DCFC with a one-week orientation. These pre-certified Firefighter/EMTs bring with them a wealth of life experience and knowledge. Steve Travers and Garrett Issel both served honorably in the United States Maine Corps and Joe Haigh has years of experience in the fire and EMS service.

The one-week orientation included district familiarization, policies and procedures, apparatus familiarization, firefighting, rescue, and EMS skills, and more! Past Chief Herb Netsch and President Wally Poppe discussed the history of the department and the changes we have seen over the years. And they wrapped up the week with a detailed tour and discussion of the various building techniques and considerations present in Delaware City.

We are grateful for the work of all of the staff and members who assisted with their initial training and are excited to welcome them to the team! They joined their respective shifts this week and have hit the ground running.
