Cadets Christen FB15 - Delaware City Town Dock
May 06, 2012
On Sunday May 6, 2012 the Cadets had a unique opportunity to dedicate Fireboat 15 late in the afternoon. After a long day of setting up, working the event and tearing it down – followed by two evolutions of training; the cadets were given the “lost” champagne bottle from the morning ceremony. Life member Bobby Grimm went looking for the bottle while the cadets were training and found it. The Cadet committee found it fitting that they have the opportunity to christen the boat. A few calls were made and a small ceremony was held at the dock. As we all know, vessels should always be christened by ladies. With that in mind, Meghan Brennan was chosen to christen Fireboat 15. Holding on for dear life Meghan whacked the bottle against the bow several times before finally breaking it; a memory that will forever last. Thank you to the Cadets for hanging in all day and helping out in so many ways.
