DCFC pay its respects to our Sisters & Brothers of Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Company - Dagsboro Fire Company

A sudden tragedy occurred on Thursday September 27, 2012 that took the life of 17 y/o Justin Townsend of the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Company Station #73 in Sussex County Delaware. Justin loss his life while responding to the fire station for a brush fire alarm in the district. The vehicle that he was riding in lost control and rolled over several times, before emergency responders arrive. The DCFC sent its sincere condolences to the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Company as well as a delegation to Dagsboro. Assistant Chief Paul Johnson, Cadet Nick Purse and 2nd Vice President Mike McMichael attended the viewing on Friday 10/05 at the Fire Station and the Funeral at the nearby Indian River High School on Saturday 10/06. Attendance at both events was approx over 1,000 to 1,500 each day. The delegation took part the 100 + vehicles in the procession from the High School to the Cemetery in Dagsboro and took a part in the luncheon afterwards. The DCFC wishes to expend our sincere condolences for our friends of the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Company.
