During the 2007 DVFA Conference held from Monday, September 10th thru Saturday, September 15th, members of the Fire Company participated in Continuing EMS Education, Hands on Hot Training, Golf Outings and the many Association Meetings. During the Opening Ceremonies and Awards, Firefighter Allan MacKenzie received for the 3rd year in a row a Scholoraship from the DVFA and at the EMS Association Dinner Meeting, our EMS Supervisor John Atkinson was awarded the EMT of the Year. During Saturdays parade, the Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary won the following awards:

Best Appearing Fire Prevention Float

Best Appearing Chiefs Command Vehicle

Second Best Appearing Pumper 15-5

Third Best Appearing Ambulance B-15

Fifth Best Appearing Ladies Auxiliary Marching Unit

We would like to THANK all the members and Career Staff who worked very hard and diligently on preparing the apparatus for this year’s Conference.

The float which had the theme of "Early Intervention is Fire Prevention" was dedicated to the memory of President Dennis Havens who passed away on August 25th of this year. We would like to also THANK all of you, our Members and Families who worked very hard and passionately on this years float in Dennis’ memory.





We would also like to say THANK YOU to Chief Chris Hansen of the Swarthmore Fire and Protective Association for providing a cover-up on Saturday.
