Wake UP Delaware - Station 15

November 03, 2007

On Saturday, November 3rd, the Delaware City Fire Company participated in the annual Wake Up Delaware Smoke Detector and Battery give away.  Vince Malloy, Francis Walker, Charles Neel, Josh Sinex, JohnReynolds Sr., Jasper Lakey, Ed Kalinowski and Career Staff Sam Boots all participated at some time during the day.

The members braved a cool miserable day to hand out over 13 dozen smoke detectors and 9 dozen batteries.

This annual event coincides with Change Your Clock, Change Your Battery in the Spring and Fall.  Every Fire Station in Delaware participates in this event.

To date over 82,000 Smoke Detectors have been distributed since this program was started in 2001.

If anyone needs a smoke detector or battery, please stop by the station, or call 834-9336 or use the "Contact Us" and we will contact you.
