Passing of Chief Engineer Emeritus Bob Neel

On Friday, August 21st, the Officers and Members of the Delaware City Fire Company were notifed by the family of Chief Engineer Emeritus Bob Neel that he had passed away.

Chief Engineer Emeritus Neel was a 48 year member of the fire company first serving in 1942 to 1952 and from October 1977 up until the time of his passing.

He served the fire company in many capacities throughout the years as a Board of Director and as many years as our Chief Engineer.  He was one of our top resonders year in and year out both fire/rescue and EMS.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 31st at the Strano and Feeley Funeral Home at 635 Churchmans Road, New Castle, DE 19720 starting wuth a public viewing at 10:30am until 12:00 noon.  Followed by internment at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery at 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701 at 2:00pm.  Celebration of Bob Neel's life will follow immediately after internment in our Memorial Hall.
