On Tuesday, April 15th the Delaware City Fire Co. held an Ambulance Awareness Class at the Heritage Preschool on Airport Road in New Castle. The class consisted of about 25 student’s ages 3-4 years old and their Teachers. The students were showed various EMS items/equipment including Pulse Ox, Blood Pressure Cuff, Stethoscope, Stretcher, and a walk through of the Ambulance it self. Safety concerns of wearing seat belts, staying in their car seat, and when to call 911 were also discussed. The Intention of this class is to limit the children's fear of the Emergency Service. Members in attendance included Fire Fighter-Ronald Hallett, Fire Policeman-Jasper Lakey, and EMS Lt.-Robert Trivett. We would like to THANK the Students and Faculty of Heritage Preschool for the great hospitality and support and the opportunity to help our communities Youth.
