Wilderness Drill with Delaware State Police - Cox Neck Road

ON SATURDAY, FEB 21 UNDER PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES, DCFC ALONG WITH MEMBERS OF THE NCC SPECIAL OPS TEAM WORKED WITH DSP TROOPER 4 HEAVY, TROOPER 6 AND TROOPER 4(STANDING BY FOR EMERGENCIES), AMERICAN LEGION AMBULANCE 64, TSU 28 FOR ARROW BOARD, LIGHT TRUCK 23, AND 29-0 WITH ARGO 29 FOR OPERATION TO PULL 3 HUNTERS OUT OF A POND OFF THE DIKES ALONG COX NECK RD AND THE C&D CANAL.
OPERATIONS STARTED WITH DISPATCH (CHIEF ROSSEEL) WITH 1 INJURIED PT AND WAS UPDATED OF 3 HUNTERS INJURIED IN THE POND WITH A-15 AND UNDER COMMAND OF 2ND ASST CHIEF MIKLUS WITH ACTIVATED OTHER UNITS ALONG WITH THE BIRD (TROOPER 4 HEAVY). SPECIAL OP MEMBERS ALONG WITH MEMBERS FROM DCFC WERE PLACED IN THE WATER TO RESCUE 3 HUNTERS (DUMMIES) AND PLACED IN BASKETS AND TAKEN TO FIELD TO BE ACCESS BY AWAIITNG MEMBERS OF AMBULANCE 64. ALL WATER TEAMS WERE BEING ASSESSED AS THEY CAME BACK FROM THE POND.
OPERATIONS ALSO INCLUDED A SEARCH AND RESCUE AFTER DARK WITH TROOPER 4(ALONG WITH ASST. CHIEF MIKLUS ONBOARD) FOR FLARE OPERATIONS. ALL NEW OFFICERS WERE IN USED UNDER DIRECTION OF DEPUTY CHIEF “BUCKY” FINNEGAN, EMS SUPERVISOR ATKINSON, AND SAFETY BILL POPPE.
AFTER OPERATION, ALL OFFICERS WERE GIVEN TIME TO GIVE A REPORT AND IT WAS TAKEN AS A “GOOD” OPERATION AND EDUCATION FROM ALL SIDES.
