L1 Water Rescue / MVC with Rollover - C and D Canal / Route 1 - Red Lion Road

02:09hrs: Station 15, Station 29 (Port Penn) and Station 18 (Goodwill) were dispatched to the C and D Canal in the area of the Route 1 Bridge for a L1*Water Rescue for an Unknown Situation (72B2). 15-Maraine-1 with a crew in quarters made the response in less the 3 minutes and arrived on scene to find 2 boats had collided. A 37 foot sail boat vs a powerboat were bow to bow. United States Coast Guard had already received the call and had a Rescue Swimmer on location when Fire Rescue boats arrived. The swimmer which had been deployed by US Coast Guard HELO advised no one was injured. 15 – Marnie-1 and 29-Marnie-1 escorted both vessels to Summit North Marina. U.S. Coast Guard and DNREC investigated the incident.
Station 15 and 29 Marine units were in service for over 2.5 hours.
10:10hrs: Station 15 and New Castle County Medic 6-D responded to an MVC with Rollover (M29D2) on Route 1 Northbound at Red Lion Road. Units arrived on scene to find a single vehicle rollover. 15-8-C(Grimm) placed the scene under control at 10:32hrs with B-15 transporting 1 person.
