Busy Day for Volunteers including MVC with fatality - RT 1 - Southbound / River Road / St Georges

On Wednesday August 25 the Volunteers of the Delaware City Fire Company responded to 10 EMS calls 3 of which were Motor Vehicle crashes involving 1 fatal and a fire alarm. At 17:02hrs DCFC and Medic 6 were dispatched for a medical call(M12D4) that turned out to be a crash on Route 1 Southbound at Governor Lea Road. BLS B-15 and Medic 6 transported a priority patient to Christiana Medical Center. At 19:01hrs, DCFC and Medic 2 were dispatched to River Road in the area of the Delaware City Refinery for a Motor Vehicle Crash(M29D2L) involving a Motorcycle. Chief 34-8-B (Bennett) was on scene with a motorcycle off the roadway. At 23:57hrs, New Castle County Communications dispatched DCFC and Medic 6 for a Motor Vehicle Crash with Entrapment(M29D4) on South DuPont Highway in the area of Main Street, Saint Georges. One patient succumbed to injuries. Chief 15-8 (Rosseel) had the Saint Georges command. Delaware City firefighters were on scene for over 3.5 hrs assisting the Delaware State Police Fatal Investigation Team.
