Womens Military Monument Dedication

November 03, 2018

On Saturday, November 3rd after the 4th Annual Delaware Veterans Day Parade, the members in attendance also were able to attend the Women's Military Monument Dedication on Legislative Hall in Dover.

Attending this event was an awesome experience to see all of the Women of Delaware who have served in the military or in support of military efforts, and pays tribute to the women of the First State who have come forward to protect and defend Delaware and the United States.

This project was started with a conversation by Ladies Auxiliary Life Member Cheryl Dennis and Senator Nicole Poore.  Once the conversation ended, Senator Poore was off and running getting support for this monument and everything came in place with the dedication of the monument on a sunny, windy and chilly day.

The dignitaries, speakers in attendance as well as the keynote speaker all had kind words for Ladies Auxiliary Member Chery Dennis for not only her service for serving in the United State Marine Corps but for her passion in getting this monument started.  Its a passion that is really second nature to her.  She serves as the Chairperson of our Membership Activities which involves not only fire company / auxiliary family events and fire company fund raising events but also community base partnerships.  There are so many of the community based partnerships that she does they are too numerous to post in the fear of missing one.

It was a special day to not only share with Cheryl but in recognizing all of the Women of Delaware who served in or supported the Military.

Congratulations Cheryl Dennis on a great job!  God Bless ALL who have served or continue to serve our Great Nation!!!!
