Rollover with Entrapment on the Roth Bridge

On February 6, 2024 at 4:44 pm, Delaware City Fire Company along with mutual aid companies were dispatched to Route 1 Northbound on the Roth Bridge for a motor vehicle collision with rollover. At the same time a Paramedic from New Castle County Paramedics and Chief 22-8 (Minquadale Fire Company) arrived on scene and began assessing the scene. Crews found a total of 5 patients with one trapped. This additional information added more EMS resources to the response. The patient was quickly extricated by Rescue Engine 15 crew and was transported to Christiana Hospital in serious condition by Ambulance A-15 with NCC*EMS. Two additional patients with minor injuries were transported to Christiana Hospital by Ambulance C-15. And the final two patients were assessed on scene by EMS but declined to be transported to the hospital. The incident resulted in significant traffic delays. Delaware State Police are investigating the crash and Chief Netsch (Minquadale Fire Company) had Delaware City Command.
