Your Delaware City Fire Company and Delaware City Police teamed up to rescue some newborn racoon kits this afternoon that had fallen from their den to the ground. While it is preferable to leave them for the mother to retrieve, two had been laying on the sidewalk in a high-traffic area for some time and still three more were precariously sliding down a steeply pitched roof. In total five babies were carefully moved into a box and transferred to a local licensed wildlife rehabber for care. All appeared to be in good condition.
