On Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at the Cranston Heights Fire Company, the New Castle County Fire Service held a Medal Day Recognition.

Chief Emeritus Jamie Rosseel was recognized with the Silver Medal of Valor for his Courageous Actions without Personal Protective Equipment in the Rescue and Removal of a Trapped Occupant from a House Fire in North St. Georges on February 26, 2022.

Career Lieutenant Quint Boots, Career Staff James Elvey along with Port Penn Fire Company Career Captain Mark Willis, Firefighter / EMT Nicholas Irwin, Firefighter / EMT Robbie Vandenbraak and Firefighter John Albany were recognized with a Meritorious Service Award for Actions in working as a Team to quickly and efficiently extricate a victim trapped in a Capsized Vessel at Augustine Beach on July 20, 2024.
