Assist Christiana on a Residential Fire

On July 17, 2023 at 2:27pm, Delaware City Fire Company was dispatched to assist Christiana Fire with a residential structure fire in the 500 block of Mason Drive in Rutledge. 15-8D (A/C Sands) arrived to find a 2 story, wood-framed, single family dwelling with smoke and fire showing from the attached garage. Quint 15 operated as the Second Due Engine, supplying Engine 12 and deploying a second handline into the structure. A-15 responded as the standby ambulance and 15-8D ran the command post. Crews operated for an hour and a half in the 90+ degree temperatures but were able to prevent major extension into the home. There were no civilian or fire service injuries.
