Crash With Entrapment on Route 1

On Sunday, October 22, 2023, just after midnight, Delaware City Fire Company Christiana Fire Port Penn Volunteer Fire Company and New Castle County Paramedics were dispatched to Route 1 Northbound just north of Wrangle Hill Road for a motor vehicle collision with rollover. Engine 6 reported that 1 patient was trapped and a door was removed to quickly free the patient. In total two patients were assessed by EMS on scene but declined transport to the hospital. Delaware State Police handled the investigation and Past Chief Rosseel had Delaware City Command.
