06:48hrs; Station 15 was dispatched by the New Castle County Fireboard for a M29B1M (MVC) on Wrangle Hill Road at Route 1. A-15 and Rescue 15 responded moments after dispatch with 15-Captain 2 (Kiger) arriving on scene and advising multiple vehicles were involved in the crash. Captain Kiger established the Delaware City Command and requested 2 additional BLS units. Further scene size up by Delaware City Command indicated New Castle County Paramedics would be needed and an additional BLS unit. Rescue 15 arrived on scene and a passenger side door of 1 of the vehicles involved was removed to gain patient access. Delaware City command placed the scene under control at 07:48hrs with 5 patients being transported to Christiana Trauma Center. DCFC firefighters were in service for over 1 hour.
